Grounded in a desire to bring back to life rare items from the University of Hong Kong’s Fung Ping Shan Library that are entwined within the world of music, Chinese Music in Print views the library as a repository not of information but of artifact, and then uses these artifacts as a means for generating scholarly narrative. In this book launch, the three contributors will highlight some of the most valuable titles that have been discussed in detail in the book. Live performance of the sheet music contained in these specimens will also be featured.

There will be a one-off 50% discount of the book at the venue. Don’t miss it.

To accompany the publication of this book, an exhibition of selections from the Fung Ping Shan Library and Western Rare Book Collection is on display at the Exhibition Area, 2/F, HKU Main Library from 16 January to 10 February 2023.
